Parents Weekend 2008

The Brothers of the Delta-Delta Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity are proud to announce Parents Weekend 2008. Parents are cordially invited to spend the weekend of April 11-12 with your son(s) in our brand new home in Gainesville.

Events will commence Friday evening at 7 PM with a chance for parents to meet one another and tour the house before sitting down for dinner and a presentation about the fraternity. Continuing Saturday morning, we will host a pre-game barbeque before heading to the Swamp to watch our very own Florida Football team in the annual Spring Orange and Blue game. After the game, come back to the house, relax and enjoy the rest of your day in Gainesville.

REGISTER HERE for the event.

For more information or questions, please contact Brother David Jones at djones87@ufl.edu.

Delta-Delta Continues Campus Excellence…

Congratulations to Brother Michael Jordan, who was named last week as the Producer of Gator Growl 2008 by Florida Blue Key. Brother Jordan will be responsible handling all aspects of Gator Growl, the nation’s largest Homecoming celebration and student run pep rally. It is not a stretch at all to say that the Producer of Growl is one the most difficult and significant positions at the University of Florida. Brother Jordan was recently tapped into Florida Blue Key for his contributions to Gator Growl, including Associate Producer and Director of Talent Night.

Brother Seth Mollitt was also tapped for his achievements as the Grand Treasurer and Grand Master of our fraternity, his work with the IFC, and his community service in the area of Boy Scouts of America.

Florida Blue Key is the oldest and most prestigious honor society in the state. These brothers have made huge contributions to UF as well as our chapter. Please congratulate them on this achievement.

Congratulate These Brothers

Congratulations to the following brothers for winning these awards at the 2007 Greek Awards Banquet. Brother Grand Master Seth Mollitt was named IFC President of the Year and Brother Ryan Merkel was given the William E. Rion Student Involvement Award.  Congratulations to Ryan Merkel for also winning the university’s inaugural Homecoming King competition.

Service Project with ADPi at Ronald McDonald House

Saturday, October 13th Kappa Sigma braved the early morning to come to the rescue of Alpha Delta Pi’s philanthropy organization, Ronald McDonald House.  Our groups worked to landscape almost the entire front of the property, planting, digging trenches, mulching, and having a good time through it all.  The project was very well attended and our efforts were much appreciated by the sisters as well as the McDonald House, making our first service project a success.
